A Dream That Started at Home
The story of Brewerks Anchorage began long before the brewery opened its doors.
Founder and brewer Chad Ringler spent close to two decades brewing beer at home. What began as a personal passion gradually developed into a serious ambition: creating a brewery where his own beers could be shared with the Anchorage community.
For years, brewing remained a creative pursuit alongside his professional career. Eventually, the desire to build something of his own became impossible to ignore. During the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ringler decided to change direction and pursue the brewery he had dreamed about for years.
Opening Brewerks Anchorage
That dream became reality in November 2021, when Brewerks opened as a craft brewery and tasting room in Anchorage.
The brewery was established in a newly built warehouse setting at 625 W 59th Avenue, giving Brewerks a distinctive industrial character. From the beginning, the space was designed to feel relaxed and personal rather than formal or corporate.
The interior features exposed rafters, beer-barrel tables, multiple seating areas, and an upper loft. Brewing and fermentation equipment can also be seen within the brewery, creating a direct connection between the brewing process and the customer experience.
Brewing With Personality
What makes Brewerks Anchorage special is the personal connection between the brewer and the beer.
Instead of simply creating a commercial product, Brewerks grew from years of hands-on brewing experience. That background allows the brewery to experiment with different styles, ingredients, recipes, fermentation techniques, and flavor combinations.
